Did we go to New Wakefield St where the rent boys used to line up every afternoon and evening ( the gay equivalent of Lewis’s Arcade & decades before there was any Sleepyboy or Rent men websites ) ? A favourite spot for Alan Turing is my guess. Were you shown the big concrete plinth under the railway arch where the Victorian pissoir once stood where the boys could display the goods.. Aaah Manchester in the 1960s with Mr McKay’s boys always on the look out … Plink & Plonk of the Vice Squad.
